Within the framework of the project “Investment Promotion for Iraq – Phase II”, UNIDO ITPO Italy promoted, organized and assisted 20 Iraqi companies and institutions in more than 200 B2B meetings during their participation in the 2022 editions of two leader Italian exhibitions for green technologies and agricultural mechanization, namely Ecomondo in Rimini and EIMA in Bologna.

Among the 12 Iraqi operators at Ecomondo there was also the President of the Iraqi Businessmen Association (IBA) and several companies operating in the field of water treatment, pumping systems, urban waste treatment and distribution of inverters, solar panels and UPSs, confirming the great interest for the exhibitors of this fair by the Iraqi operators, especially the ones from the province of Basra.

The 8 operators at EIMA, mostly from the Iraqi Kurdistan region, represented some of the major importers of agricultural machinery in the Iraqi market and distributors for international groups and investors for important agricultural projects in the north of the country. Notably, also His Excellency Masrour Barzani, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Italy, attended the fair in Bologna, getting to know better some of the operators supported by UNIDO.
