Within the framework of the project “Resilience of Agropastoral Populations in Eastern Sudan”, funded by the Italian Government through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), UNIDO Sudan with its Kassala Office is organizing a two-day B2B event in Khartoum to promote access to renewable-energy products for agricultural use in Sudan. 

The event, which will be held on 27 and 28 November 2022, is promoted by UNIDO together with UNIDO ITPO Germany in collaboration with the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources of the State of Kassala, the Federal Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Energy and Mines - Directorate of Renewable Energies, and will see the participation of associations of agricultural producers supported by UNIDO and some of the key stakeholders in the Sudanese renewable energy sector, among which representatives of the private sector, public and financial institutions.

Goal of the event is to promote the development of company networks, encourage investments in the field and, ultimately, promote the transfer of renewable-energy technologies towards the agro-food market of Sudan. In this framework, UNIDO is organizing matchmaking meetings among the participating companies (mostly from Sudan) to facilitate connections. The event will provide a window to virtually connect them with interested international companies, including Italian companies. The connection will take place on 28th November as per the agenda attached, or by reserving sessions for the upcoming weeks in case of impossibility to attend.
