Organized by UNIDO ITPO Italy in collaboration with the University of Florence (UniFi), the webinar “Use of Google Earth Engine for Analysis of Forestry Data” took place online on 15th June 2023 at the presence of more than 40 companies and institutions from Ethiopia and Peru in the field. 

With the special participation as key panelist of UniFi Professor Francesca Giannetti, the event illustrated into details how to effectively use the tools offered by Google Earth Engine — including key features such as data catalog, cloud-based computing, geospatial analysis, visualisation and mapping, and more — in order to perform different analyses related to forestry data, sharing best practices for increased know-how and expertise with relevant stakeholders from Ethiopia and Peru, towards the development of the local sectors.

This initiative was part of the project “Fostering International Partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the Energy and Environment sectors” (#FIPEE), funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
