UNIDO ITPO Italy organized and assisted a ministerial, institutional and business delegation from 9 partner countries - namely Botswana, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Morocco, Peru and Somalia - to the 2023 edition of Ecomondo, the Green Technology Expo, which took take place in Rimini from 7 to 10 November 2023.

This initiative was organized within the framework of three UNIDO projects, namely: "Fostering International Partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the Energy and Environment sectors" (#FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy; "Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II" (#IPI), funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and also implemented by ITPO Italy; and “Productive Sectors Development Program for Somalia”, implemented by UNIDO with the support of AICS, the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Multi-Partner Trust Fund.

The delegation was composed of representatives of ministries, institutions and companies operating in the energy and environment sectors and beyond, interested in meeting with local exhibitors and visitors to discover new business opportunities and synergies for international collaborations.

Within the framework of the 2023 edition of Ecomondo, UNIDO ITPO Italy also notably held its "2nd FIPEE Investment Forum on Energy & Environment" as a milestone concluding event of the FIPEE project's activities.
