The "Introductory Workshop on Eco-Industrial Park for Iraq" took place online on Wednesday 18 October 2023, held by colleagues from UNIDO headquarters in Vienna Alessandro Flammini and Klaus Tirkko, for the benefit of over 10 members of the Government Commission for Industrial Zones in Iraq.

The objective of the initiative, highly appreciated by the Iraqi federal and KRG counterpart, was to introduce UNIDO's approach and ongoing projects on EIPs, providing practical examples of RECP interventions, industrial symbiosis and master plan development, then opening the discussion for future initiatives within the scope of UNIDO's activities in the country.

The activity is part of the “Investment Promotion for Iraq - Phase II” project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
