Participation to the event organized by the Italian Pavilion for EXPO 2015

Florence, March 27th, 2015 - The event "Showcasing Italy at Expo Milano 2015" dedicated to deepen contents and logistical aspects of the Italian Pavilion in view of the semester exhibition, was held today in the prestigious Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.

A workshop focused on the activities and the functioning of the Palazzo Italia and the Cardo, in which all the participants of the Italian Pavilion took part. The event opened with a welcome from the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella and the Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council Luca Lotti. Diana Bracco, General Commissioner for the Italian Pavilion and Chairperson of Expo 2015 summarized the path done for the organization of the Universal Exhibition. The workshop was opened in the presence of Stefano Gatti, Director General of the Italian Pavilion.

The Italian Pavilion is a complex building composed by Palazzo Italia (approximately 13,200 square meters on six floors above ground) and the buildings of the Cardo (approximately 13,700 square meters on 3 floors above ground), that will represent the Italian territory, especially the regions, providing them with meeting and exhibition areas. The architecture is characterized by unique projects with attention to technological innovation and sustainable approach, this makes the Italian Pavilion a symbol of the great contemporary creative factory.

The event was attended by numerous personalities from the political, economic and social world, including the Head of UNIDO ITPO Italy, Mrs. Diana Battaggia.
