Participation at the roundtable in Monaco: ‘On the trail of EXPO Milan 2015’

Munich, May 20th 2015 - The head of UNIDO ITPO Italy Mrs. Diana Battaggia was invited to attend the roundtable ‘On the trail of Expo Milano 2015’ organized by the Italian Institute of Culture in Munich, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Bavarian Ministry of the Agriculture and Forestry Heritage. The event ‘A journey through the development of solidarity and environmental sustainability: opportunities and obstacles’ was held in Monaco and focused on the themes of the Universal Exhibition.

The event opened with the greetings of the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture Mrs. Giovanna Gruber, which introduced the theme of the debate: world hunger, desire for a healthy nutrition, sustainable economy and alternative energy.

In this context, Mrs. Diana Battaggia was invited to present the activities of UNIDO ITPO Italy and to discuss key issues related to food safety and food security as well as the role played by industry and agribusiness sectors. Mrs. Battaggia presented also the new initiative of the Office, namely the International Award ‘Innovative ideas and technologies for the agribusiness’ with the aim to identify the best technologies available that could lead to social and economic improvements if or when implemented in Developing Countries.
