Fourth Session of the Cuba-Italy Entrepreneurial Committee

Padova, June 30th , 2015 - Ms. Diana Battaggia, Director of UNIDO ITPO Italy, took part in the opening of the Fourth Session of the Cuba-Italy Entrepreneurial Committee, held today at the Conference Centre of the Chamber of Commerce Padova. The Committee, established in 2011, was created to help strengthen economic relations between the two countries, and does so through an ongoing exchange of information and assistance to Italian companies operating in the Cuban market. 

The event saw the participation of many key figures, amongst them were; the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Padova, Mr. Fernando Zilio, the director of Padova Promex , Mr. Franco Conzato, the Ambassador of Cuba in Italy, Ms. Alba Beatriz Soto Pimentel, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba Mr. Omar De J. Fernandez Jimenez, the Director of the International relations division of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba Ms. Celia Labora Rodriguez, Ms. Lourdes Morell Santos International Relations division of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and Mr. Daniele Marcheselli, Office of Internationalization businesses of Intesa SanPaolo.

In this context Ms. Battaggia, during her speech, stressed that Cuba, aside from  being very interesting from the point of view of geographic location, tourism, and people, offers a unique opportunity to inaugurate a path of economic growth based on sustainability and social inclusiveness, key words which are the basis of the UNIDO strategy.
