Rome, 29 April 2016 - A four days training workshop was held between 25-29 April 2016, at the UNIDO ITPO Italy’s premises about the internationally accepted UNIDO methodologies and tools for project formulation and appraisal including COMFAR (Computer Model for Feasibility Analysis and Reporting). COMFAR is the software developed by UNIDO, which facilitates the fast computation of financial statements needed for financial and economic appraisal of investment projects. It can be used for small‐ to large‐scale projects, expansion, rehabilitation and modernization of existing enterprises and joint ventures.

The workshop program included, among others:

• The introduction to the UNIDO methodology on the preparation of projects and their evaluation, including the COMFAR;
• Discussions about the project options (such as joint ventures or expansion / rehabilitation projects, cost centers, cost allocation, inflation and escalation);
• The exercise and the analysis of case studies with application of COMFAR and COMFAR Lite;

At the end, the participants received a Certificate for their successful completion of the course.
