In the framework of the project “Fostering International Partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (FIPEE), on 22nd September 2021 UNIDO ITPO Italy organized a meeting with the Institute of Marine Engineering (INM) of the National Research Council (CNR).

The meeting — attended by UNIDO ITPO Italy’s FIPEE Coordinator Ms. Valentina Maltese, UNIDO ITPO Italy Chief Technical Advisor Mr. Dino Fortunato, Investment Promotion Experts Ms. Ester Temperato and Mr. Enrico Siepi, UNIDO ITPO Italy’s new Expert in Energy and Environment For Cuba Mr. Ernesto Riviera, and Mr. Francesco Salvatore, Project Manager at INM — was aimed at discussing potential synergies within the framework of the FIPEE project as far as the production of clean energy through sea, lakes and river currents is concerned.

Successfully, a match with Cuba was identified and, as a result, a follow-up meeting will be organized with the Cuban ministerial counterpart, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA).

CNR, supporting Research & Development processes in scientific terms for the production of new solutions, showed great interest also for the rivers and lakes of other partners countries of the FIPEE project, which will pave the way for more detailed evaluations considering the status of local natural resources and current laws.
