On 12 January 2022 UNIDO ITPO Italy hosted a virtual ceremony to celebrate the partnership agreement signed between Plexus Energy Ltd and Solgreen Srl.

Plexus Energy is a Kenyan enterprise delivering green-energy products and solutions, while Solgreen in an Italian company providing innovative technology systems for renewable energy. The two had the opportunity to meet each other in-person on the occasion of the 24th edition of Ecomondo (the green technology expo held in Rimini, Italy from 26 to 29 October 2021) thanks to the support provided by UNIDO ITPO Italy.

After several follow-up meetings, on 15 December 2021 the two companies officially signed a collaboration agreement for the distribution of agro-food and water-treatment solutions, also through the installation of solar panels for industrial and domestic applications.

Kenya has huge untapped potential for solar energy and water treatment, and this partnership between the Italian and the Kenyan private sector truly represents a milestone achievement fostering cooperation, technology transfer and a green transition in the energy and environment sectors of Kenya — as a part of the FIPEE project “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition (MiTE) and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
