During the conference, panelists - among which Ms. Jessica Fernández Casañas,  General Directorate for Environment of CITMA; Ms. María Victoria Benito Messir and Ms. Sandra Edith de Huelbes Ocaña of the Piscolabis project; Ms. Yunairy Estrada Carpio of Ecopapel CycleMs. Ena María Morales Hernández of Selva enterprise; and Mr. Ernesto Rivera Pérez, UNIDO ITPO Italy Special Advisor for Energy and Environment in Cuba - introduced their activities and their impact on environmental sustainability through actions for corporate social responsibility, as well as how being a businesswoman or female entrepreneur has influenced their lives, highlighting main challenges and major achievements.

In light of the important progress of Cuba towards empowering women and strengthening their connections with the business sector and sustainable enterprises, this event represented a space for knowledge exchange dedicated to Cuban businesswomen and female entrepreneurs, promoting and showcasing successful enterprises and initiatives connecting sustainable best practices, environmental protection and circular economy with the participation of women.

This initiative was organized as a part of the project “Fostering international partnerships between companies and/or institutions operating in the energy and environment sectors” (#FIPEE) funded by the Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
