UNIDO ITPO Italy organized two training workshops in Cuba dedicated to the packaging sector - the first, titled “Packaging for fresh and processed foods”, from 28 February to 4 March 2022, and the second "Packaging and characterization tests" from 7 to 11 March.

Both training workshops were held under the guidance of Mr. Diego Szkvarka, Head of the Primary Packaging and Packaging Systems Department of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) of Argentina. The second workshop also featured the participation of Eng. Pablo Maiorana and Mr. Pedro Cervantes from the Containers and Packaging Center of INTI Argentina.

Among the 22 participants who attended the training workshops were specialists from companies from the food and agri-food industry that produce and use packaging, as well as directors and specialists from various institutions belonging to the Ministry of Industries of Cuba (MINDUS) and specialists from the National Center for Packaging and Containers of Cuba (CNEE).

This initiative was organized within the framework of the project “Capacity Building on Investment for Cuban Government”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy.
