Business Forum "Vietnam Destination ": new investment opportunities for Italian companies

Bologna, May 8 2013. UNIDO partecipated in the Business Forum "Destination Vietnam", organized by Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna, in collaboration with the Region itself, in occasion of the " Vietnamese Days in Emilia-Romagna".

The event was inaugurated by the president of Unioncamere ER Carlo Alberto Roncarati and involved about 60 companies from Emilia-Romagna, the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, HE Nguyen Hoang Long, the president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam Michele D'Ercole, Vice-President of Vietnam EuroCham Thomas Andreatta, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director of the Consortium AlmaLaurea Andrea Camels.

UNIDO ITPO Italy underlined the role and the activities of the office in the industrial and economic context. In particular, it focused on the SMEs Cluster Development Program in Vietnam.

During the Forum, were also illustrates the successful cases that involved the Italian companies that have invested in the Vietnamese market.

In this regard, Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Italy, has activated the Vietnam Desk, which is a stable point at the disposal of companies from Emilia Romagna interested in investing in this country and which will be active for three months.

Vietnam is an attractive market for small and medium foreign companies: the GDP data relative to the last few years (+30%) is especially significant. In addition, with the elimination of tariffs among ASEAN Member States that will take place in 2015, Italian companies in Vietnam will be able to export their products to the largest free trade area in the world, the Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA ), which includes a number of emerging countries of the Far East and, in turn, has agreements with major economies like China, Japan, Korea and the U.S..

Seeking the economic growth of developing countries and international cooperation among enterprises, UNIDO pays particular attention to the investment opportunities offered by the Vietnamese market.
