Presentation of the new web platform for EXPO 2015

A meeting with the ambassadors and commercial attaché of selected countries was held in Rome, at UNIDO ITPO Italy premises, to discuss about SMEs in developing countries and the possibilities of cooperation in view of Expo Milan 2015.

Rome, Dicember 16th 2014 - It was presented yesterday in Rome, at the presence of ambassadors and counselors from the Embassies of several African, Asian and Latin American countries, the new Web platform created by UNIDO “Supporting Your SMEs to discover Expo 2015 and Italian Excellences”.

Through this platform and in view of Expo Milan 2015, companies and institutions will have the opportunity to request information and assistance to UNIDO ITPO Italy for the organization of business meetings and study tours at several Italian industrial districts and companies. The platform will be active for registration from January 2015.

It is a solution designed by ITPO Italy to support SMEs in the search for new business partners and institutions, promote and facilitate the dialogue between them, expand business and the network of the companies involved.

UNIDO extends his hand to developing countries and acts as a broker between Italian entrepreneurs and the rest of the world, providing a constant support to the private sector of the countries involved in the initiative, with a focus on SMEs.

Among the guests of the UN  Agency in Rome attending  of Supporting your SMEs to discover Expo 2015, we mention  the embassies of Angola, Brazil, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Iraq, Senegal and Tanzania.

“Within the ITPO network, UNIDO ITPO Italy, is best placed to cooperate technically with other cooperating partners to "Support your SMEs to discover EXPO Milan 2015". Indeed we are signing several collaboration agreements with some Italian stakeholders, like Regions, financial institutions and entrepreneurial associations to join efforts and to sensitize an active participation and contribution of private sector to achieve the goals this global event.

I sincerely hope that those initiatives will facilitate the increased cooperation among our countries, in order to build a perfect bridge where we will continue working together”, said the head of UNIDO ITPO Italy, Diana Battaggia.
