Rome, February 26th 2015 - Great success for the participation of the Italian Regions in the meeting that took place today at UNIDO ITPO Italy premises in Rome, to illustrate the platform ‘Supporting your SMEs to discover EXPO 2015 and Italian excellences’ .

The platform is aimed to strengthen the economic and trade relations between companies in developing countries and their Italian counterparts for EXPO 2015, in order to encourage the creation of partnerships through the organization of workshops, seminars, study tours and B2B based in the national Country.

The Regions’ representatives showed their support to the initiative ‘Supporting SMEs to discover your EXPO 2015 and Italian excellences’ promoted by UNIDO. The platform is designed for the Institutions and enterprises in the Developing Countries that will participate at the EXPO 2015.

The Italian Regions have expressed their availability to finalize arrangements with the UN Agency for the definition of the incoming of entrepreneurs from Developing Countries to visit their local industrial districts.

The office also had the opportunity to present the International Award UNIDO ITPO Italy ‘Innovative ideas and technologies for agribusiness’ that the UN Agency is organizing in cooperation with the National Research Council (CNR).

The aim of the International Award is the identification of the best technologies and innovative ideas that could lead to social and economic improvements in Developing Countries within the issues related to the Universal Exhibition in Milan.

The meeting is part of the UNIDO ITPO Italy project work for EXPO 2015, and laid the foundation for further collaborations between the UN Agency and the Italian Regions.
