Great success of participation to the first edition of the International Award “Innovative Ideas and Technologies on Agribusiness”

150 proposals were submitted by companies, startups and research centers from 30 countries of Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Europe. These are the main figures relating to the International call for tender that expired last June 30th and  is being organized by the office in Italy of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO ITPO Italy and the Italian National Research Council.

The tender permitted the identification of the best technologies and innovative ideas in the agribusiness sector that could lead to social and economic improvements if or when implemented in Developing Countries. Moreover, in line with the objectives of UNIDO, the International Award seeks to create a virtuous circle of connections between the private, academic, financial, and institutional world at an international level, with the aim to pave the way for technology transfer activities in developing countries.

Winners will be selected in the coming weeks by an ad hoc jury composed of highly qualified representatives from international institutions, academics, institutional representatives and financial entities.

The award ceremony will take place on the 26th of August at Cascina Triulza within EXPO Milan 2015, in the framework of an event organized in collaboration with the Italian National Research Council. During the event, held under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Expo Milano 2015, the winners will have the opportunity to present their proposals to a selected audience.
