UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the Conference “The Fishery value chain: challenges and innovation”

Rome, 5 December 2017 – Within the context of the attention paid to fishery sector in Developing Countries, UNIDO ITPO Italy took part in the Conference “The Fishery value chain: challenges and innovation”, organized by Legacoop agro-alimentare in order to discuss about current challenges that cooperatives, SMEs and the large-scale retail trade are facing in this period.

The event was enriched by the presence of the Italian Minister of labor and social policy, Mr. Giuliano Poletti, who underlined the efforts fulfilled by the Government to support the fishery value chain. The occasion was also useful to better know the best practices implemented by some Italian cooperatives involved in fishery activities.

UNIDO ITPO Italy is currently implementing a cooperation project in fishery sector, aimed at supporting local communities in four West African Countries (Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea and Ivory Coast) through the creation of partnerships with the Italian companies.
