Delegation of Ghana in Italy

EXPO Milano, July 16 2015 - A delegation from Ghana of over 10 companies was supported by UNIDO ITPO Italy in a business mission in Italy in occasion of the Ghana National Day in Expo. The delegates from Ghana belong to the sectors of banking, agro-industry, construction, infrastructure, and energy.

Part of the delegation led by Togbe Afede XIV, King of Asogli State and businessman in the energy sector, was welcomed in Turin by the Consul of Ghana in Italy, Mr. Salvatore De Fazio, who along with UNIDO ITPO Italy and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, was able to organize business meetings with several companies, as well as BtoB meetings for the sectors of infrastructure and energy. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the important Italian company IREN Mercato, a leader in field of energy and waste management.

Meanwhile, the rest of the delegation led by Mr. Ernest Mawuli Agbesi, Managing Director of the National Investment Bank of Ghana, and supported by UNIDO ITPO Italy, traveled to Parma, where it was received at the local Chamber of Commerce. UNIDO ITPO Italy in close collaboration with the PARMAforEXPO, organized institutional meetings with Mr. Andrea Zanlari, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Parma, Mr. Stefano Girasole, Chief of Economic Office of UPI - Unione Parmense degli Industriali, and Mr. Davide Menozzi, from the Department of Food Science of the University of Parma. The day in Parma ended with a company visit to FBR-ELPO, a manufacturer of machinery used to for the processing of fruits and vegetables.

The day after in EXPO Milan, the delegation had the opportunity to participate in the National Day ceremony at the Ghana pavilion, within the Cluster Cocoa and Chocolate. For this occasion, UNIDO ITPO Italy organized several meetings with some of the partners present at the exhibition site.
