Delegates Programme

Thanks to the UNIDO Delegate Programme – operative in all UNIDO ITPOs – Delegates of government, semi-government or non-government organizations from developing countries involved in project promotion have the opportunity to work together with UNIDO ITPO Italy and meet to exchange knowledge and experience within business sectors of interest. The Programme is an essential tool to support the investment and technology promotion activities carried out by the Office and facilitate bilateral cooperation between Italy and institutions of developing countries, as well as South-South cooperation.

How it works

UNIDO ITPO Italy invites Delegates for a short-term stay (up to 3 months) at its Office, in order to promote the Delegate’s country as a possible destination for Italian investment and technology transfer through the presentation of specific local investment projects and joint ventures.

In terms of activities, UNIDO ITPO Italy provides the Delegates with assistance for the promotion of projects and the identification of potential Italian partners by organizing meetings and visits, seminars and roundtables, study tours and their participation at national and international fairs, business communications and negotiations, and further Office facilities.

After their experience at UNIDO ITPO Italy, the Delegates return to the their home countries with an improved technical knowledge and familiarity with both the Italian industrial scenario and the UNIDO ITPOs procedures, as well as an important international network of professional contacts, which may pave the way for investment opportunities and business partnerships to assist the development of local institutions and SMEs. In the follow-up stage of the Programme, Delegates will also be in the position to directly manage potential negotiations with interested counterparts.

Meet the Delegates

66 Delegates from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Middle East have worked with UNIDO ITPO Italy between 1989 and 2024.
